About us

The Coastal Coalition has been formed as an umbrella group to unite individuals, groups, businesses, and organisations who feel strongly that the Foreshore & Seabed is the common heritage of all New Zealanders and should stay in Crown ownership.

The Coastal Coalition opposed the National Government's race-based privatisation of the country's richest public asset and is now running a Citizens Initiated Referendum to restore Crown ownership of the foreshore & seabed. If you agree that our beaches and Territorial Sea should be owned by all New Zealanders, then please help by collecting signatures for our petition.
