Constitutional Review |

|
A Constitutional Review was part of the confidence and supply agreement between National and the Maori Party. The Maori Party believes the Treaty of Waitangi must be the foundation for any new constitutional framework. With the foreshore and seabed debacle, which saw National delivering on the Maori Party's radical demand for private tribal ownership of the coast - at a huge cost to the general public - fresh in our mind, the New Zealand Centre for Political Research remains concerned that without vigorous public opposition, National may consider implementing a Treaty-based constitution. That's why we have launched a campaign to oppose the establishment of a new New Zealand Constitution based on the Treaty of Waitangi. If you share our concern, sign up now - and urge your friends to sign up too - so we can keep you well informed. SIGN UP: |
