Foreshore and Seabed Campaign

Thanks so much for supporting our drive to retain Crown ownership of the Foreshore and Seabed.

The National Party is proposing to privatise large parts of the foreshore and seabed to Maori. Under the government's proposals, Maori will be given ownership rights, which will enable them to develop and mine the area, demand levies and royalties from coastal operators, and veto all other developments - with no rights of appeal.

Crown ownership of the foreshore and seabed has existed since 1840, but National is planning to give it away and the public are blissfully unaware of what is going on.

We are working hard to raise awareness of what's going on and we are very grateful for your support.
