SECURING OUR FUTURE
Democracy comes at a price. Citizens must be prepared to fight for what they believe in. To do that, they need to be knowledgeable – and empowered.
It is now ten years since I established the New Zealand Centre for Political Research as a public policy think tank committed to strengthening grassroots democracy through knowledge. Over the years, the NZCPR has helped to shape the future direction of New Zealand. Our research and commentary influences decision makers and opinion leaders. We speak out fearlessly whenever strong voices are needed.
To maintain our independence the NZCPR accepts no government assistance, nor runs advertising.
Our commitment to informing and empowering citizens, means that we give away all of our NZCPR research and commentary for free.
That makes finding sufficient funding to keep our operation running a daunting challenge.
After 10 years of battling it is time to establish a more permanent funding base for the NZCPR if we are to keep going.
I am therefore appealing to readers of our weekly newsletter is to consider providing a regular weekly, fortnightly or monthly automatic payment contribution to help secure our funding into the future.
