This submission is based on the expectation that the curriculum designers will develop an honest, impartial, objective and comprehensive account of the past and present development of our country. It is also a very rare and exciting opportunity to inform our young people and indeed, the rest of us, about who we are today.

It is time to put an end to deceptive politicians being able to abuse their positions of power by delivering something they did not promise when soliciting public support on the campaign trail. This kind of political dishonesty should never be allowed in New Zealand and should not be tolerated.

As probably the key element in the He Puapua strategy designed to achieve joint Maori-Crown sovereignty by 2040, the proposed curriculum is hugely important. I would urge readers, if they haven’t already, to make a submission. Feel free to use anything from my effort, if it helps. You have until May 31.

The Maori Sovereignty Movement wants to reclaim control of New Zealand through biculturalism, return all land to Maori, impose Maori culture onto the country, ensure the Maori language dominates, and redesign the country’s institutions to prioritise Maori.

It’s not colonisation and racism that is holding back disadvantaged Maori families, but tribalism and the failed ideology of Cultural Marxism...

The left is now in grave danger of throwing out the baby of our democracy, with the bathwater of our colonial past. But our democratic institutions, and the science, and the meritocracy that support them, have to be allowed to flourish without wrong-minded opportunism based on an appropriation of history, including the history of race.

Education has long been described as a passport to a better future, but with increasing numbers of students leaving school with no qualifications at all, the system appears to be failing the very children for whom it was traditionally a lifeline .

The teaching of phonics, which had previously been mainstream, was now deemed heretical. I was exaggerating only slightly when I described Doris’s clandestine activity in teaching phonics as reminiscent of Resistance operations in Nazi-occupied France.

Our small population size has fostered a social conformity that makes it hard to speak one’s mind. With two-degrees-of-separation, you cannot afford to burn bridges. And given our latent inferiority complex, we don’t publicly admit to our problems
